Welcome to our Boutique Blog!
I'd like to take this time to introduce myself. I'm Samantha Leslie Pascoe. I was born in a small town (Milton, ON), I moved to Winnipeg, MB when I was thirteen. I lived there until 2007 when I moved to Montreal, QC. (I now live just off Montreal Island in Ville LeMoyne.)
I have had many different jobs through the years from Administrative assistant to Customs and Freight Sales Person, to a Sessional instructor at McGill University. Now I work from home. I make blankets, quilts, hats, mitts, shawls, scarves, yarns, etc., for others and my home. Of course, I can now add to the list that I'm an online retailer of knitting, spinning, and weaving supplies.
I'm married to a wonderful man, Cory. He is an Mechanical Engineer. He works at Pratt & Whitney Canada. We met at the University of Manitoba while doing our Undergraduate degrees. We have been together for over 10 years. We have two kidz: a black lab, her name is Beauty and a grey tabby cat, his name is Turbo.
There are two people helping me build Fibre Detours. The first is my husband Cory. His love, support, and encouragement have helped me to begin and maintain this project. The other person is my Mom, Leslie Pascoe. Her financial support, her encouragement, being a sounding board for ideas, products, and her just being there, has been tremendously helpful since day one. Without her this couldn't not happen. Thank you to both of you!
This boutique has been a dream of mine for a few years now. Like with any new thing there is a learning curve and this boutique and its sites, are certainly experiencing some learning curves. I say sites since there are two parts to Fibre Detours. The website with this blog, information, etc., and the online store with its catalogue. Which I will not get into... I'll say is... The boutique is running well. There has been some traffic and sales are happening. I couldn't be happier. The website was posted last week and this is our very first blog post.
What to expect here? The blog will have posts about Knitting, Crocheting, Spinning, and Weaving -of course. Their will be information about the products we sell including tips and tricks for uses and maintenance. I'll especially be posting about the things I've learnt from my detours with fabric and fibre. In the coming months, there will be blog link-ups, giveaways, and more. So I hope you'll check back often.
Speaking of Giveaways! We are giving away a $25 dollar gift-certificate! Find out more Here!
TTFN,
Samantha
